Ingredient List: 

  1. Chana dal 
  2. Chaula dal 
  3. Moong mogar chilka 
  4. Rice flour 
  5. Gram flour 
  6. Salt 
  7. Cumin 
  8. Fennel 
  9. Turmeric powder 
  10. Red chili powder 11. Kuti red chili 12. Carom seeds 13. Asafoetida 
  11. Garam masala 

 

  • Take 1 cup pre- mix Naman chilla mixture in a bowl. 
  • Add 1 ½ cup of water to it and soak it for ten minutes. 
  • Check the texture add more water if required. 
  • Meanwhile, heat the Tava/ griddle and grease it with few drops of oil.
  • When it is heated enough, pour one ladle full of batter in the center.
  • Spread it as thin as possible. 
  • Regulate the flame to medium and drizzle ¼ to ½ tsp of oil/ghee on it.
  • Flip it with the help of a spatula.
  • When you see brown spots on the chilla, remove it on the plate.
  • Serve chillas with green chutney. 

Serving: 

Make three to four chillas.

Ingredient List: 

  1. Sooji /Rava 
  2. Chana dal 
  3. Cashews 
  4. Black mustard seeds 
  5. Salt 
  6. Turmeric powder 
  7. Dry curry leaves 

 

  • Take 1 cup pre-mix Naman Rava Idli mix in a bowl. 
  • Add 1/4 cup curd and 3/4 cup water & 1/2 tsp salt. 
  • Soak it for a few minutes until the Rava absorbs the water. 
  • Mix well and add more water if required to form an Idli batter consistency.
  • Grease the Idli plate with oil. 
  • Just before steaming, add 1/2 to 3/4 tsp Eno{fruit salt} to batter, mix well till it turns frothy.
  • Pour the batter immediately into the idli plate. Do not rest the batter. 
  • Steam the Rava idli for 10 minutes on medium flame. 
  • Finally, serve the idli with hot sambar. 

Serving: 

Makes five to six idlis.
